28th Bournemouth Scout Troop

Leadership Team:

Scout Leader (SL): Colin Baverstock
Assistant Scout Leader (ASL): Toby Baverstock

About our Scout Troop:

We encourage our Scouts to take responsibility for themselves and each other, by taking part in activities where they must work as a team. They like being with friends and participating fully in the adventure of life, whether that’s by doing activities indoors or camping in the outdoors. Scouting also provides young people the opportunity to learn and enhance skills that are essential in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards. Our Scouts are supported by a team of dedicated volunteers who are all DBS checked and compliant with the Scout Movement training.

Our Scout Troop meetings run on Thursday nights (school term-time) from 18.00-19.30.

Our Scouts Like:

  • Developing leadership skills
  • Learning emergency aid
  • Spending nights away – the summer camp is often the highlight of the year
  • Helping others in the community
  • Cooking, both at home and at camp
  • Adventurous and sporting activities – anything from abseiling to zorbing
  • Learning survival skills
