Small, friendly and active Scout group based in Boscombe.
The 28th meets every Thursday evening (school term time) at the Salvation Army on Palmerston Road, Boscombe. All sections start at 18:00, ending at 19:15 for Beavers and 19:30 for Cubs and Scouts.
At our Thursday meetings, we do a range of activities, usually tied into the badge awards of Scouting. However, as we are a small group, we are committed to designing a programme based on what our members want to do – within reason, of course!
Recent research undertaken by the Bournemouth Scouting District has shown that the most popular Scouting activities are ones that take place outdoors: Camping, Hiking, Pioneering, etc. At the 28th, we agree: Our members and leaders all love camping and all kinds of outdoor, adventure activities.
For further details of what we do, and indeed have done, please take a look at our New and Events pages. Additionally, you can follow us on Facebook or Instagram!
The 28th Bournemouth is a small Scout group, and is run by leaders and volunteers who are all friends in life outside of Scouting as well; so we put our all into the group! In fact, many of our leaders – both old and young – have been members with the group for years, as Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and now adult volunteers!
The 28th Bournemouth is a great group to join if you like the ‘family feel’; something that we certainly have, and are very proud of. However, even though we are a small group we do want to increase our numbers so that we can not just do more of the fun and adventurous activities that we enjoy, but provide the opportunity of Scouting to even more local young people.
The easiest way to join is by clicking the Join button on our website and filling out the form so that we can get back to you. Additionally, you can get in touch with us using the details on the Contact page.
However, those who are interested (young people of 6-14 and potential adult volunteers) are more than welcome to come along to one of our Thursday meetings!
